BARI ebonites have long been regarded as one of the best 'all rounders' for the soprano sax. Excellent intonation, great projection, brighter sound compared to an Otto Link for example are the main characteristics of this mouthpiece.  It delivers a lush, resonant low end, a well-rounded core tone in the middle range, and sweetness in the upper register. The journey began with Wolfe Taninbaum, the designer of the original BARI reeds and mouthpieces, a musician renowned for his performances in orchestras like Les Brown, Benny Goodman, and Jimmy Dorsey. Wolfe's impact extended beyond playing; he played a pivotal role in creating a distinctive facing for alto and tenor mouthpieces, known as the "WT," later adopted by Otto Link. This facing produced a sought-after dark, husky resonance that commanded high prices.
